TCG’s Disaster Restoration and Reconstruction Process
We start by listening. Our first priority is to understand your concerns, answer immediate questions, and gather details about the disaster. During this step, we also explain what the reconstruction process will look like, so you know what to expect from start to finish.
Shawn Wood, TCG’s General Contractor and Owner, will visit the property to thoroughly evaluate the extent of the damage. We document everything with extensive photos, notes, and measurements, and identify any safety hazards. This step helps to ensure that no damage is overlooked—whether it’s obvious structural issues or hidden water intrusion behind walls.
We coordinate directly with your insurance adjuster and meet them at the property. This is a critical step to make sure the adjuster notices all the damage firsthand. Our presence helps prevent items from being missed and allows us to speak the same “language” as the adjuster when discussing scope, codes, and repair requirements.
Using Xactimate, the industry-standard estimating software for insurance claims, we create a line-by-line, code-compliant estimate. This ensures the estimate is clear, accurate, and matches the format the adjuster expects. We include supporting photos and documentation to streamline the approval process.
Once the estimate is submitted, we stay in close communication with both the adjuster and the homeowner. If the adjuster requests revisions, needs additional documentation, or discovers hidden damage, we handle all supplements and follow-ups. At the same time, we keep you updated so that you always know the status of your project. You are always welcome to communicate with Shawn or any team member. We work to address your questions right away.
The reconstruction work can begin as soon as the initial advance from the carrier is received. Shawn will continue to work with you and your adjuster until your claim is finalized. We coordinate with any additional parties (insurance carrier, mortgage company, adjusters) so you, as the homeowner, have one point of contact—us.
When the project is complete, we walk through the reconstructed and restored property with the homeowner to ensure every detail meets their expectations. Our goal is not only to repair the damage but also to restore comfort, safety, and peace of mind.
