Tallahassee Construction Group was founded by Shawn Wood, a lifelong leader in disaster restoration and reconstruction. For more than 30 years, Shawn owned and operated ServiceMaster franchises in Tallahassee, Panama City, and the surrounding areas. He’s helped countless families recover from fire, water, and storm damage. With over 30 years of hands-on experience, he has seen it all. He has restored it all. He has reconstructed it all.
After selling the ServiceMaster franchises, Shawn established Tallahassee Construction Group with a clear mission: to continue serving his community with the same dedication, compassion, and expertise that homeowners have trusted for decades. At TCG, we understand that disaster reconstruction is about more than repairing a property—it’s about guiding homeowners through some of life’s most difficult moments and helping them feel whole again.

What TCG is Not
For some, this headline is surprising because it may not appear to embrace the essence of service. We did this on purpose to compel you to read on and learn with clarity and honesty what TCG is all about. We have found that when expectations are clear and met, we have satisfied clients and therefore, we will tell you with stark honesty who we are and who we are not.
Many franchise groups cater to the insurance carrier and not to the client they service. You as a client deserve the best attention on all levels, however other restoration vendors are worried about complying with the carriers' rules. These rules use a lot of time by these franchise groups because they aren't concerned with the attention you need but rather the carriers' lengthy guidelines.
TCG is an independent firm that will communicate with the carrier and you to deliver the same high level of service to all. This is accomplished because we aren't overwhelmed with the carriers' requirements when a hired restoration vendor from the carrier is sent to your house. We stay focused on your behalf.
We believe that mitigation companies are good at what they do, but not reconstruction. This is important to you because you're getting a company that specializes in one field, not many. This is like going to a Cardiologist for a foot problem.
Although, the mitigation company will likely handle these or will advise you to place them in a safe place off site. We have seen thousands of properties and our employees and vendors are vetted by the president of this company.
Some companies charge for this, but we are happy to talk about projects that aren't ours either to make sure you are taken care of.
